On Sunday night NWP were lucky enough to be invited to day three of the World Para-Athletics Championships in London.
Starting with a few cheeky drinks and nibbles, we then made our way to the Olympic Stadium where the atmosphere was truly electric.
A British home crowd of 31,000 were there to support team GB in action.
We witnessed some amazing track and field events, from the T47 Men’s High Jump Finals to the Women’s T44 400 meters, all showing incredible sporting talent.
But the real highpoint for us was getting the chance to see Jonnie Peacock compete in the Mens T44 100m final – where he claimed Britain’s 8th Gold medal. After some difficulty with some pre-race cramp threatening his title as World Champion, Jonnie still managed to storm to victory. Plus he’s one of our Sainsbury’s Active Kids ambassadors too, what an inspiration.
On Day 4, Great Britain are currently leading with a total of 16 medals – 9 Gold, 2 Silver, 5 Bronze.
What a cracking start, but with 1 week to go, let’s all get behind team GB!
